Thump Thump (10/30)

My life is really a roller coaster. I control so many different things. How someone breaths and how someone lives. I feel everything my person feels. I am constantly pressured to keep everything running smoothly and making sure everything's running smoothly. I manage my person’s physical and mental health. It’s tiring.
My person’s name is Ashley. She’s been through a lot. We both struggle in gym class. After one lap she’s gasping for air and I’m beating fast. I send signals to remind her of her inhaler. She’s teased in gym class for always coming in last place on the running and I break a little. Signals go up to the eyes and a tear falls down Ashley's face. Ashley and I pick ourselves back together. We both are stronger than gym class comments.
I hate to admit it, Ashley and I are sensitive and that makes us look like a wimps around her friends. When they call Ashley names, I break. Gym class comments I can take, but when they start targeting Ashley's personality, I can’t listen. I signal the legs to walk away and I wish I could tell the brain and ears to ignore it. We luckily always get over it after because Ashley has one friend who always makes us feel better.
On the bright side I love being surprised. Ashley’s friend Marisa held a surprise party and when we walked downstairs and saw the number of people I almost jumped out of Ashley’s chest. It was such a fun night full of dancing and singing.
Scary movies are also the best and I love watching them. I thump slowly until a monster pops onto the screen and then I go crazy. Signals tell Ashley to scream and her squeal is funny. I love being happy. Ashley gets excited over the smallest things, but I like it cause I thump a little faster. When she sees a puppy, a baby, or even a pretty flower, I thump faster.
It’s crazy how fast we can go from heartbreak to joy in the blink of an eye. I have one tough job, but it sure is fun.
